Our mobiles are constantly becoming more powerful and apps garner tremendous importance. Smartphones have changed consumer behaviour. The client is mobile.
Mobile orders are increasing greatly
While the topic of mobiles was onerous for developers precisely because it was limiting and many things had to be adapted just for them, apps and the sales of smartphones have since become a main theme. The number of people using their mobiles for shopping is growing. One study by the consulting agency PwC shows that in 2015, approx. 35% of online buyers placed an order at least once a month using their smartphones. At Zalando, mobile orders have increased by 90% since the start of 2015, which means 65% of the traffic in the online shop is generated via mobile devices (Textilwirtschaft 12/16).
Mobile app – for every country and many languages
If you download the Esprit app to your smartphone, you can decide once you open the app what language you would like to continue in. A total of 10 languages are available. If a translation into a particular language for a country is not available, then English is used. Both the technical foundation and the language of an app must be correct. Products are sold when the product description is convincing.
Messenger apps and speech recognition
Interaction with smartphones is changing. Will we tell our smartphones more and more what we want, and touch it less and less? A smartphone must be able to understand commands in every language; it will be exciting to see how individual apps will implement things technically and linguistically.
